Cornelia Lawrie
Associate, LLB
Cornelia is an associate in our family law team. She began her academic journey by completing a National Diploma in Business, Level 6, majoring in Accounting and Finance, before pursuing a law degree at the University of Waikato. She graduated in mid 2014 and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in February 2015.
While completing her studies, Cornelia successfully raised a young family and managed a successful business, showcasing her exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
Since becoming qualified, Cornelia has practised in various legal fields. She initially focused on offshore private wealth and estate management, before transitioning into family law, specialising in child protection, Oranga Tamariki matters, family violence, and parenting disputes. Cornelia has developed a wealth of experience in the Family Court and is a tenacious advocate for her clients, representing both private clients and those eligible for legal aid.
Known for her kind, personable, and efficient approach, Cornelia strives to make challenging legal situations as straightforward and stress free as possible for her clients.
