Martin is a Director of Hine Eagle. He works primarily in the Criminal Court, however, can assist with Family Court matters. He completed his law degree at Auckland University and was admitted to the bar in September 1980. He started his legal career as a Barrister and Solicitor in Hawkes Bay at that time. He has practised law in New Zealand as well as Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, the Republic of South Africa, and Hong Kong. Martin has now been practicing in the Bay of Plenty since 2003. Martin co founded Hine Eagle in 2017.

Martin specialises in criminal litigation and dispute resolution. He has a broad range of knowledge and experience across civil, family, and employment. Martin is a category 4 provider for legal aid criminal matters and is a qualified duty solicitor. He regularly appears in the District Court and High Court, as such, Martin is considered senior counsel in the District Court.

Martin is based in Tauranga and accepts instruction in the Tauranga Court. He is also often assigned counsel in the Rotorua cluster and frequently attends Court in Rotorua, Tokoroa, and Taupo.

Martin has a wide range of experience in representing clients in complex dispute negotiations, and enjoys challenging evidence.
